So much potential

We were so excited to stay at the Wigwam When we saw the lobby it was exactly as we had hoped. However, when we got to our room it was very different. Old, tired, rust window frames around our shower, bad 90s office looking furniture. Holiday Inn type decor. Really outdated!We left our tired room for 12 hours Saturday and came back to dirty sheets, towels, unmade bed. I called and asked for maid service and was told it’s every 3rd night. I was stunned. They offered to send fresh towels.Prior to our arrival I called the hotel restaurant reservation line 4 times and 4 days before our stay to make one dinner reservation. I even got the manager Anthony’s voice mail and zero return calls for 1 dinner reservation. Such horrible service it was unreal. For $800 a night, this was not a 5 star resort or experience. We will not stay there ever again! Sad because it has such potential

Long Walks to Rooms

Gorgeous resort, however inconvenient to get to rooms, golf cart service no one answered the phones for assistance at room to get to vehicle. Was asked to move our vehicle to better serve their construction needs. Internet was horrible. Bad service at coffee market, wouldn't allow usage of cash due to not having any in drawer, no air conditioning in market, purchased chocolate and was melted once opened and had not left the market yet. Was told she couldn't serve cold coffee due to not having any ice, lady was too busy to stock ice rather than sleeves for the coffee. was advised that we couldn't use the pool on our last day of stay due to not having the correct wrist band color, hotel should have provided that and not have been given a hard time. Its summer! the pool slides should stay open past 5pm! shades in the room were broken so couldn't open for natural light, not enough blacked out windows for sleeping in, shades provided to much light on sides that didn't cover the windows. Two door rooms only had key entry on one side versus both, why have second door if you cant use a key to get back in? Food at conference was a 3 out of10, dry, not enough seasoning, too spicy, didn't provide other options if you didn't like the food etc. Air conditioning shook my whole room each time it was...

late check out

I requested the 5pm check out when I made my reservation on line on the WigWam website.. I had to call the front desk to verify, they said I did have the 5pm check out. two minutes later the front desk calls back and states that they can not accommodate. I asked if there was a way we could get ready for dinner somewhere they said that there was a restroom. Not a satisfactory response.

Acceptable

Obviously the property is quite old. Common areas nice. Room was acceptable but e.g. slider doors are clearly old and do not work well. Bathroom was nicely renovated. Wifi was virtually non-existent, had to use hot spot on iPhone.
