Common areas great. Rooms not so great.
I stayed due to business but opted to tack on a couple of days to experience a spa day. The common areas are great, hospitality and conference accommodations were wonderful, my spa day was awesome, the grounds are kept beautifully (except many of the awnings were torn), but the room needs a tremendous update and cleaning. I saw another review that talked about the bed and that reviewer is right on. We purchased an air freshener to mask the old musky carpet smell. The carpet was dirty and ragged in areas. The linens and towels need updating as well. The shower area was dark, tub needed work including plumbing, the doors were not sanitized-clean with finger prints on and damage to them. Furniture is out dated, not enough seating and window sills were dirty. We ate at two of the restaurants and while my husbands Litchfield's dinner was superb (his words), mine was microwaveable quality. We both thought the other place fell short on food quality and service

Hotel was under renovation, which affected the quality of our experience
I imagine this could be a great place to stay, so our comments may not be typical. In October of 2010, when we stayed here, the hotel was under renovation. There was no restaurant, and the only way to get to our units was by car or a 10-minute walk. We were told to call the front desk to be picked up in a golf cart, but our phone was dead. (Unit 410) Almost no one was staying at the resort, which made it a little weird. No one was on the golf course, but the sprinklers kept watering the empty greens and fairways -- a little disconcerting in Arizona heat, where wells keep going dry. Our room was fine in most regards, but there was a lingering smell of stale cigarette smoke, which put me off. The decor was unimaginative, but that wasn't important. It seemed like a good room for a beer party and football game, not one of my favorite pastimes, but for those of you who like this kind of gathering, you'd be happy here. There's a bar and fridge in the room. There was no Internet service available while we were there. The staff at the desk and helping us to our unit were all good-natured and helpful. I'm sure if the place hadn't been under renovation, our stay would have been different (and better)

Great for Families or Singles
Lots of fun activities for the kids and relaxation for the big kids. Service makes you feel like you are a welcome guest in their home

AWESOME time in Authentic AZ!
We had a great time at the Wigwam with the whole family. The rooms were large and comfortable, the service was outsatdning and there were so many things for the kids to do. When we came home they were so tired they slept half the next day
