Wonderful Lobby, reception area and library. The reception staff were helpful and pleasant. The grounds are lovely. The pool is nice but not restful. There isn't any staff at the poolside. Kids were jumping in and out of the hot tub and people were eating fried food while soaking in the hot tub, dropping crumbs into the water. The outdoor furniture both in the pool area and on the patios is a little worn.Our casita was spacious and functional, the beds were comfortable. Only was club chair, the furnishing are going to be up-dated, apparently over the next few months. The food was average the service was average.

We stayed here for our wedding night and while the resort is quite charming it really didn’t have many resort-like amenities or touches like many of the other resorts we have stayed at. For instance, no free water bottles, you had to pay for that ($6 by the way) no microwave, again you had to pay for that also. I mean even the most basic hotels have that. They also had to change rooms since they didn’t have our suite available and we had to opt for a smaller option. The biggest thing for me though was the lack of safety protocols. We didn’t discover that our sliding patio door wasn’t locked until our second night there, and on top of that the lock was so jammed we almost couldn’t even lock it. Worst of all, housekeeping left the door to our room open for our entire wedding day. It wasn’t until when we got there that night I noticed the door was not latched. I’m a wedding photographer and I had over $10,000 worth of camera equipment and important photos that were at risk of being stolen. There are few other annoying things like the automatic lights in the restroom that constantly shut off after about minute and you can’t even take a shower without it turning off within 2 minutes of showering. Some rooms were being updated when I was there. If you are considering a stay you may want to contact the hotel to find out if your room would be an updated one. My mattress had seen better days, and tv and system were small and technology very old.

Property is large and has it's own charm. Pools were super clean and all the staff was really helpful and friendly. Exterior of buildings and our room had ALOT of wear - carpets heavily worn, tears in upholstery, paint chipped off/worn. It was clean though. They are doing a $30MM overdue renovation. I would try it again.
